Shoulder complaints can be very debilitating and strongly affect your daily activities. In many cases the diagnosis is a bursitis (inflammation of the bursa) or tendinitis (tendon inflammation). Anti-inflammatory medications and injections often provide only limited and temporary relief.
Causes
It is important to recognise that an inflammation does not arise without reason. Bursitis or tendinitis is often a consequence, not the cause, of reduced shoulder function.
Shoulder complaints often result from:
- Poor posture (at work or otherwise)
- Repetitive movements
- Overuse
- Sports injuries
- Poor function of the neck and upper back
Can we help?
We treat not only the shoulder complaint itself, but also investigate the underlying cause — so that the complaint can be prevented from returning.
