The practice has existed for more than two decades: chiropractor Saara opened her first practice in Nijmegen in 2001 and has since built a network that now encompasses two locations — in Elst and in Groesbeek.

Saara

Saara was born in Finland and has been working in her own practices since 2003. Her fascination with chiropractic care arose because she herself suffered from headaches as a child. "In Finland I was examined by various doctors, but unfortunately nothing helped. Eventually I ended up with a chiropractor — and that actually worked!" she says enthusiastically. This awakened her passion for chiropractic care, and in 2001 she graduated from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic, followed by many courses and specialisations.

Maarten

Maarten studied chiropractic for five years at the University of South Wales in the United Kingdom. In addition to his clinical work, he is actively involved in scientific research into low back pain and neck pain — in collaboration with leading researchers in the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. This makes him one of the few chiropractors in the region who combines clinical practice with research. His treatments are therefore grounded in the most current scientific insights.

"I became a chiropractor because in this profession I can combine two things I love: solving puzzles and helping people," Maarten explains. "Every person is different, and every patient presents a different problem. Finding out exactly what is going on and how to resolve the complaints is a puzzle that must be solved individually for each patient. When it works and I can help someone get rid of their pain, it gives an incredible feeling."
